Derek L. Casey’s mission is to serve the people of the great city of Modesto where he was born and raised. Throughout his years of work—both within the legal system and without—his experiences have solidified his mission: to help people navigate the complex and intimidating aspects of the legal system with a tenacious spirit, tact, and comprehensive understanding of the law.
Derek L. Casey's education and experience are home-grown here in Modesto, with the very first roots in Davis High School. He received an associate's degree at Modesto Junior College before moving on to California State University, Stanislaus, for his bachelor’s degree. In 2012, he relocated to pursue his law degree at Lincoln Law School of Sacramento. After four years of intense study, he completed his degree in the summer of 2016 and passed the California Bar Exam that November.
During all that time, he worked in local restaurants, healthcare, and law enforcement—all fields that helped shape and fuel his desire to pursue criminal defense and personal injury law. Then, while working as a legal intern at the Stanislaus County District Attorney’s Office, he got to immerse himself in legal research and drafting for criminal prosecution cases. He took that experience to The Law Offices of Mark S. Nelson in 2017, where he practiced personal injury, contracts, and family law. Subsequently, he practiced criminal defense and personal injury at Perry and Associates.
In the late summer of 2021, Derek L. Casey, Inc., A Professional Law Corporation was officially incorporated right here in Modesto. Derek L. Casey knows that living and working in this great city is a privilege, and is honored to serve you and his community.
